TonyBet New ID: When Does a Bet Actually End? Regular Time, Extra Time and Overtime
TonyBet is an international sportsbook founded by the Lithuanian poker player Antanas Guoga, better known as Tony G, and the name reaches Indian search bars mostly through poker circles. GameWinExch is not affiliated with TonyBet and cannot issue a TonyBet account. We hand out a rupee ID for our own panel, opened on WhatsApp and funded by UPI. A multi-sport book of that kind does raise a question that catches out cricket-first bettors the moment they try another sport. Your team lifts the trophy, you open the app to collect, and the bet is marked lost. Nothing went wrong. The bet ended before the match did.
Football Stops at Ninety
The rule that causes most grief is simple. Unless the market says otherwise, a football bet is settled on regular time: ninety minutes plus whatever the referee adds for stoppages. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs do not count. This applies to match result, totals, both teams to score, handicaps, correct score and most goalscorer markets.
So in a cup final that finishes 1-1 after ninety minutes and is won 2-1 in extra time, the winning match-result selection is the draw. Anyone who backed the eventual champions at 2.30 has lost. Over 2.5 goals is also a loser, because only two goals came in regular time. Stoppage time does count. A goal in the 90+7th minute is a regular-time goal. The thirty minutes that follow a full-time whistle are a separate event as far as the bookmaker is concerned.
To Qualify, To Lift the Trophy
Books offer a different market for people who want the whole night covered. It appears as to qualify, to advance or to lift the trophy, and it includes extra time and penalties. It has two outcomes instead of three, so the prices are shorter.
A worked comparison with a 1,000 rupee stake. Team A is 2.30 to win in ninety minutes, the draw is 3.20, and Team A is 1.72 to lift the trophy. If Team A wins inside ninety minutes, the first bet returns 2,300 and the second returns 1,720. If the match goes to extra time and Team A wins there, the first bet returns nothing and the second still returns 1,720. The gap between 2.30 and 1.72 is the price of insurance against a draw at ninety minutes, which in tight finals happens around three times in ten. Neither bet is wrong. They are different bets, and you need to know which one you hold. Two-legged ties add another layer, which we cover on the Mglionbet page.
Sports Where Overtime Counts
American sports flip the convention. In basketball, the standard moneyline, the point spread and the game total all include overtime. A game tied at 102 after four quarters that ends 118-112 settles on 230 total points, and an under 215 bet that looked safe with a minute to go is a loser. Quarter and half markets are the exception: a fourth-quarter or second-half bet normally excludes overtime at most books, though house rules differ. American football works the same way, with overtime included in full-game markets. Baseball includes extra innings. If you are moving from cricket into basketball, the Gogawi page gives a fuller primer.
Ice Hockey Has It Both Ways
Hockey is the sport where you must read the market name every single time, because both conventions sit side by side.
- Three-way, or regulation time: home, draw or away after sixty minutes. Overtime and shoot-outs are ignored. European books lead with this.
- Two-way, or moneyline: includes overtime and the shoot-out, so there is always a winner. North American books lead with this.
Around a fifth to a quarter of top-level hockey games are level after sixty minutes, so the difference is large. A favourite priced 1.65 on the two-way line might be 2.05 three-way. Totals bring one more oddity: when a game is decided by a shoot-out, the winning side is credited with exactly one extra goal for settlement, however many penalty shots went in.
Cricket, Briefly
Cricket has its own versions. In limited-overs matches where a super over decides a tie, match-odds bets on most books and exchanges settle on the super over winner, while a separate tied-match market pays out on the tie itself. Runs scored in a super over do not count towards innings totals or player runs. Where rain shortens a match, match odds usually stand on the official result under the DLS method, but totals and session bets are typically void unless the required overs were bowled or the line had already been passed. Rules vary between panels, so ask before the first ball if the sky looks doubtful. The cricket betting exchanges guide lists how our markets settle.
A Thirty-Second Check Before Any Unfamiliar Sport
- Read the market title for the words regular time, regulation, including overtime or to qualify.
- Count the outcomes. Three prices almost always means the draw is live and extra periods are excluded.
- Open the rules page for that sport and search for overtime. It takes less time than choosing the stake.
- For knockout games, decide beforehand whether you want the ninety-minute price or the insurance.
On a GameWinExch ID, football match odds follow the ninety-minute convention and any knockout market that includes extra time is labelled as such; our football exchanges page has examples. The related question of bets that are voided or resettled after the event is on the Instabet page, and knockout formats at the next World Cup are discussed on the Weltbet page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can GameWinExch open a TonyBet account for me?
No. We are unconnected with TonyBet and cannot register or fund accounts there. We issue our own rupee ID only.
Does stoppage time count in football bets?
Yes. Added time at the end of each half is part of regular time. Extra time and penalties are not.
Do basketball totals include overtime?
Full-game totals, spreads and moneylines do at nearly every book. Quarter and half markets usually do not.
What is the difference between three-way and two-way hockey lines?
Three-way settles after sixty minutes with the draw as an outcome. Two-way includes overtime and shoot-outs.
How is a cricket match settled after a super over?
Match odds normally go to the super over winner. Any tied-match market pays on the tie.
Half of all settlement disputes are really reading mistakes, so read first and stake second. Keep amounts modest while learning a new sport, and stay out altogether if you are not yet 18.
