Simplesbet New ID: Turning Odds Into Probabilities and Stripping Out the Margin
Queries about a Simplesbet new ID reach us fairly often, so first the necessary clarity. Simplesbet is a Brazilian-facing online betting brand. GameWinExch has no connection with it and cannot open, sell or top up a Simplesbet account. Our service is our own rupee ID, arranged through WhatsApp and paid for by UPI, usable on our panel only. Since the name promises simplicity, this page teaches the simplest piece of betting arithmetic that most players never learn: what the odds say about probability once the bookmaker’s cut is removed.
Step One: Implied Probability
Decimal odds convert to an implied probability by dividing one by the odds. A price of 2.00 implies 50 percent. A price of 1.50 implies 66.7 percent. A price of 4.00 implies 25 percent. That is all there is to it, and you can do it on a phone calculator in three seconds.
The trouble starts when you add up every outcome in a market. They should total 100 percent, since something must happen. They never do. The excess is the overround, the bookmaker’s margin spread across the prices.
A Three-Way Football Example
Take a football match priced at home 2.10, draw 3.40, away 3.60.
- Home: 1 divided by 2.10 is 47.62 percent
- Draw: 1 divided by 3.40 is 29.41 percent
- Away: 1 divided by 3.60 is 27.78 percent
Total: 104.81 percent. The book has built in a margin of 4.81 percent. None of those three figures is the bookmaker’s real opinion. Each has been inflated. To know what the market actually thinks, you have to deflate them again, and there is more than one way to do it.
The Proportional Method
The quick method divides each implied probability by the total. Home becomes 47.62 divided by 104.81, which is 45.43 percent. The draw becomes 28.06 percent and the away side 26.50 percent. They now add to 100. In odds terms, the fair prices are 2.20, 3.56 and 3.77.
This assumes the bookmaker added margin to every outcome in the same proportion. It is easy, and for evenly matched games it is close enough. Its weakness is that bookmakers do not actually behave that way.
The Power Method and the Longshot Problem
Bookmakers load more margin onto outsiders than onto favourites. Punters love big prices and barely notice whether a longshot is 11.0 or 13.0, while a favourite cut from 1.30 to 1.25 looks stingy at once. This is the favourite-longshot bias, and proportional deflation ignores it, leaving outsiders looking more likely than they are.
The power method corrects for that. Instead of dividing, you raise each implied probability to a common power, slightly above one, chosen so the results add to exactly 100 percent. Raising a small number to a power shrinks it proportionally more than a large number, which is the adjustment you want. For our match the exponent works out at about 1.046, giving home 46.02 percent, draw 27.80 and away 26.18. Fair odds: 2.17, 3.60 and 3.82.
The gap widens on lopsided games. Price a match at 1.25, 6.00 and 11.00 and the proportional method gives the outsider 8.6 percent while the power method gives 7.35 percent. That is the difference between fair odds of 11.6 and 13.6. Anyone who backs outsiders regularly and uses the simple method will keep finding value that is not there.
You do not need algebra to find the exponent. Put the three implied probabilities in a spreadsheet, put a trial power in another cell, sum the results, and nudge the power until the sum reads 1.000. Goal Seek will do it in one click.
A Two-Way Cricket Example
A T20 is priced at 1.80 and 2.05 on a bookmaker-style tab. Implied probabilities are 55.56 and 48.78 percent, total 104.34. Proportionally deflated, the favourite is 53.25 percent and the underdog 46.75, fair prices 1.88 and 2.14. With only two outcomes near even money, the power method lands within a few tenths of a percent of that, so the quick method is fine.
Now look at the same match on the exchange tab of the panel, where the favourite can be backed at 1.86 and laid at 1.87. The midpoint implies about 53.6 percent with almost no margin to remove. That is why exchange prices are the cleanest probability estimate you can get, and why we suggest reading the cricket betting exchanges guide before anything else.
What to Do With the Number
Suppose you stake 1,000 rupees on the underdog at 2.05 when the fair price is 2.14. Your expected return is 46.75 percent of 2,050, which is 958 rupees. You are paying 42 rupees for the bet. That is not a reason never to bet. It is the price tag, and you should see it before you pay it. If your own assessment makes the underdog 50 percent, the same bet is worth 1,025 and you have a reason to place it.
The habit to build is small: before any bet, convert, total, deflate, compare with your own number. Markets with a total under 103 percent are cheap. Markets above 107, common on player specials and the side markets described on the Goalbet page, are expensive. Coin-flip markets at 1.90 each side, covered on the Wood777 page, total 105.3. Frequently Asked Questions
Can GameWinExch open a Simplesbet account for me?
No. We are unconnected to that brand. We issue only our own rupee ID.
Which method should a beginner use?
Proportional for near-even two-way markets, power for anything with a big favourite or a long list of runners.
Is a lower overround always better?
All else equal, yes. It means less of each stake is surrendered before the match starts.
Do exchange prices have a margin?
The gap between back and lay is small, but commission on net winnings is the real cost and should be included.
Does knowing fair odds guarantee profit?
No. It tells you what a bet costs. Profit needs your own probability to be better than the market’s, which is rare.
Arithmetic makes betting clearer, not safer. Adults only, stakes you can lose without borrowing, and a full stop when the month’s budget is spent.
