Thunderpick New ID
Thunderpick New ID: Mobile Esports in India and What You Can Actually Bet On
A Thunderpick new ID is mostly searched by people under thirty who grew up watching BGMI scrims on YouTube rather than Ranji Trophy highlights. So let us be straight from the first paragraph: GameWinExch is not affiliated with Thunderpick, and we cannot open or fund an account there. Thunderpick is a crypto-friendly esports betting site with its own registration. Our product is a rupee betting ID, set up on WhatsApp and paid for through UPI, that works on our panel. With that settled, this page takes on a question we get surprisingly often: India’s biggest esports are played on phones, so why can hardly anyone bet on them?
How the Phone Became India’s Esports Arena
In most of the world esports means a desktop PC, and the headline titles are Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant. India went a different way. Cheap data after 2016 and affordable Android handsets put a capable gaming device in tens of millions of pockets, and PUBG Mobile became a national habit. When that game was blocked in September 2020 along with a long list of other apps, the publisher Krafton returned in mid-2021 with an India-specific version, Battlegrounds Mobile India, known to everyone as BGMI. It was pulled from app stores again in July 2022 and came back in May 2023.
Free Fire has an equally bumpy story. It was hugely popular on low-end phones, then the original app was blocked in February 2022, leaving Free Fire Max as the version Indian players could still find. Through all of this the competitive scene kept going. BGMI has official events such as the India Series and the Pro Series, plus a long calendar of third-party tournaments with prize pools that run into crores, and the biggest finals draw live audiences in the hundreds of thousands on streaming platforms.
Placement Points and Kill Points
A battle-royale match is nothing like a cricket match or a Counter-Strike map. Sixteen squads or so drop onto one map and the last team alive wins the round, the famous chicken dinner. A tournament day is five or six such matches, and a final can stretch to eighteen or more across three days. Teams are ranked on total points, and points come from two sources.
- Placement points. Under the format used in recent official BGMI events, first place earns 10 points, second 6, third 5, then 4, 3, 2 and a single point for seventh and eighth. Finish lower and you get nothing for position.
- Kill points. One point for every elimination, with no cap.
Here is how that plays out. Team A wins a match with 4 kills: 14 points. Team B is knocked out in fifth place but took 13 kills on the way: 16 points. Team B “lost” and still outscored the winner. Over eighteen matches the title often goes to a side that won only two or three rounds but collected kills steadily. Organisers change the tables from season to season, so check the rulebook of the event you are watching.
Why Bookmakers Offer So Little
Open the esports tab of almost any book and you will find hundreds of markets on CS2 and Dota, and perhaps an outright winner on a BGMI final if you are lucky. There are solid reasons for that.
- Sixteen runners, not two. Pricing a head-to-head is routine. Pricing one match among sixteen squads, where the safe zone can close on the wrong side of the map for the favourite, is closer to pricing a horse race with no form book. The best teams win only a small share of individual matches.
- Thin data. Traders rely on licensed live data feeds. Those exist for the big PC titles. For mobile battle royale, the data is patchy, and without a feed there is no live betting.
- Little two-way money. A market needs volume from people with different opinions. The global betting audience for BGMI is tiny next to CS2, so limits would be very low even if markets existed.
- Publisher rules. Tournament licences from publishers frequently restrict betting sponsorship, which removes the commercial reason for a book to invest in coverage.
Integrity in a Young Scene
There is also the uncomfortable part. Many professional players are teenagers or barely past twenty, salaries outside the top organisations are modest, and a large share of tournaments are played online from bootcamps or homes rather than on a supervised stage. Emulator use, third-party hacks and teaming (two squads quietly agreeing not to fight each other) have all led to bans in Indian events. In a lobby of sixteen teams, a mid-table squad deliberately dropping into a rival’s landing spot can change the outcome without anything looking odd on stream.
The PC titles went through this a decade ago and built integrity bodies and betting-alert systems in response. Mobile esports has much less of that machinery. Any responsible trader looks at the combination of young players, online play and low pay, and keeps the limits tiny or stays out. If someone on Telegram offers you BGMI match betting with big limits, ask who is setting those prices and who settles disputes. Usually the answer is nobody you can find afterwards.
What an Indian Esports Fan Can Realistically Back
If the interest is in betting on esports rather than on BGMI in particular, the realistic menu today is the PC scene: match winner, map handicap and total maps in CS2, Valorant, Dota 2 and LoL. Those markets are deep, the matches are head-to-head and the data is reliable. The pages on esports tournament formats and esports integrity are better starting points than hunting for a BGMI line.
It is also worth knowing the legal backdrop in general terms. India passed a national online gaming law in 2025 that promotes esports as a recognised competitive activity while prohibiting online money games. How that is enforced and what it means for any particular product is still developing, so read current official guidance rather than relying on a forum post. This is general information, not legal advice.
On our own panel, esports coverage is limited and cricket is the deep end. An ID from GameWinExch gives the fullest markets on the cricket exchange, with football and tennis behind it. If your draw towards Thunderpick was the crypto side instead of the esports side, the page on logging in with a wallet explains what that involves before you try it anywhere. Newcomers can start with the online cricket ID walkthrough.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can GameWinExch create a Thunderpick account for me?
No. We have no connection with Thunderpick. We issue only our own rupee ID for our own panel.
Are there BGMI markets on the GameWinExch panel?
Not as a regular feature. Esports coverage is thin. Cricket, football and tennis carry the real depth.
Why can a team win a BGMI match and still lose ground?
Because kills score a point each with no cap. A high-kill fifth place can beat a low-kill win.
Is BGMI the same as PUBG Mobile?
It is the India-specific version from the same publisher, launched in 2021 after PUBG Mobile was blocked.
Are private BGMI betting groups safe?
Treat them with suspicion. There is no recognised price source, no settlement rulebook and no one to complain to.
Watching a final for six hours and betting on it for six hours are different things. If you do stake on esports anywhere, keep it small, keep it occasional, and leave it entirely alone if you are under 18.
