Solisbet New ID: Pink Ball Tests and the Twilight Session
A Solisbet-style new ID from GameWinExch is a rupee betting account opened by WhatsApp and funded by UPI, with Test cricket markets that run ball by ball for five days, or in the case of this page, usually fewer. Day-night Tests are still rare enough that most bettors price them as if they were ordinary Tests with a later start. They are not. The pink ball, the floodlights and the hour around sunset change how wickets fall, how long matches last and how captains think, and each of those changes moves a market.
Why the Ball Is Different
A red ball cannot be seen well under lights and a white ball will not last 80 overs, so manufacturers built a pink one. To keep the colour, it carries extra coats of lacquer, and the seam is stitched in black thread for visibility. That lacquer keeps the ball harder and shinier for longer. It swings conventionally for more overs than a red ball does, and it skids on. Groundsmen also leave a few extra millimetres of grass on day-night pitches to protect the ball from scuffing, which gives the seamers still more help.
Spinners are not shut out. At Ahmedabad in 2021, India and England played a pink-ball Test that was over inside two days, with spinners taking most of the wickets, because the lacquered ball skidded straight on from a turning surface and batters played for spin that was not there.
The Twilight Hour
Ask any batter what is hardest about day-night cricket and the answer is the period when natural light fades and the floodlights have not fully taken over. For 40 minutes or so the ball is harder to pick up, the air cools, and swing often increases. Collapses in this window are common enough to be a pattern rather than an anecdote. India’s 36 all out at Adelaide in December 2020 happened in a morning session, which shows the ball can misbehave at any time, but over the run of day-night Tests, the final session has tended to be the most productive for bowlers.
For a session bettor this matters directly. A runs line for the third session of a day-night Test, set as if it were the evening session of a day game with tired bowlers and an old ball, will often be too high, particularly when a new ball is due under lights.
They Finish Early
The first day-night Test, Australia against New Zealand at Adelaide in November 2015, ended on the third day. India’s first, against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in 2019, also finished inside three. Across the two dozen or so played since, nearly every one has produced a result, and a good share have ended with a day or more to spare. Australia won all of their early pink-ball Tests at home before finally losing one to West Indies at Brisbane in January 2024.
So the draw, which might be priced at 4.0 or 5.0 in a normal Test depending on the ground and the forecast, deserves to be much longer in a day-night match. If the panel shows a pink-ball draw at anything like a red-ball price, the lay is worth examining. On a 1,000 rupee lay at 5.0, liability is 4,000 rupees, and you are betting that one of the two sides will win, which history says happens almost every time unless rain takes out two full days.
Declarations Timed for Dusk
Captains have learned to use the light. A side that is 320 for 6 with an hour left before twilight will often declare, or swing hard and then declare, in order to bowl 12 to 15 overs at fresh openers under lights with a new ball. In a day Test the same captain would bat on to 450. This has two effects on live markets.
- Innings runs lines for the batting side can land under, because the innings is cut short by choice.
- The fielding side’s price shortens sharply after the declaration, and sharply again if an opener falls before stumps.
If you hold a position on innings runs in a day-night Test, check the clock as well as the scoreboard. A declaration forty minutes before the break is the most predictable unscripted event in the format.
A Worked Session Example
Day two at Adelaide. The home side has just taken the second new ball at 6.40 pm with the visitors 210 for 4. The session line for the last two hours is set at 78.5 runs. In day Tests at the same ground, the final session averages around 85. Under lights with a new pink ball, recent matches show closer to 65 with two or three wickets. Backing under 78.5 at 1.90 for 2,000 rupees risks 2,000 to win 1,800. You are not predicting a collapse. You are noting that the line has been copied from the wrong format.
How to Prepare for One
Check sunset time at the venue and mark which overs will fall in twilight. Look at how many overs old the ball will be at that point. Read how the home side has used declarations in earlier day-night games. And keep stakes below your normal Test level, because the sample of pink-ball matches is still small and any pattern drawn from 25 games can break. Our Ashes guide covers ground-by-ground draw rates for red-ball Tests, the Suprabets page explains how shortened matches settle, and partnership and next-wicket markets come alive in the twilight overs. Frequently Asked Questions
Is Solisbet a company GameWinExch represents?
No. We use the name only to describe the style of ID people search for. The account you receive is a GameWinExch rupee ID.
Does the pink ball always favour fast bowlers?
Mostly, but not always. On a dry surface it skids on for spinners, as the Ahmedabad Test in 2021 showed.
Are draws impossible in day-night Tests?
Not impossible, but very rare so far. Heavy rain is the main route to one.
Which session should I be most careful with?
The final session, especially when a new ball is available around sunset.
Are there many day-night Tests each year?
Only a handful. Australia stages one most summers, and other boards schedule them now and then.
Five-day cricket tempts long hours of betting. Set a limit for the whole match rather than each session, stay within it, and remember this is strictly for those aged 18 and above.
